Foot Conditions & Surgery
Podiatric surgeons perform foot surgery under local and general anaesthesia, usually on a day case basis.
The management of conditions and injuries includes, non-operative treatments such as orthotics (specialised shoe inserts) which maybe simple or fully customised according to the individual's problem. Strengthening and flexibility exercises, advice on sports and general footwear, injection therapy and when necessary, foot surgery, are all options in treatment. The most appropriate treatment for each patient is individually tailored as is needed.
